I finished up my contributions to the community project by creating ‘dream catcher stockings’ for 700 foster children. For me Christmas is about ‘giving’. It means everything to me that these stockings will go to children and young adults who often do not have anything to call their own. In the end I sent 3 big stockings that I designed, digitized, and stitched out for the oldest children graduating out of foster care and into transitional adult housing. For the younger children I made 12 small stockings and 10 large stockings.
We had a quiet, yet relaxing Thanksgiving. The house is decorated and ready to enjoy!
The creative, introverted, caring person I am craves nesting and decorating my home. Home to me is not a ‘showcase’ home but a place that is warm and welcoming. I want every person that comes into my home to feel that ‘they are at home, loved, and cared about’. As an introvert, my home is my haven – a place for peace and joy – despite the world outside my home. When I decorate – it is me putting all my love and hope into everything I touch. Every item has a special memory of those that I love.
