Today I began to create the quilt top for my appliqued center design. The finished embroidered top is 22.25″ x 31.25″.

Border 1:

• Sides: 2 pieces, 31.25″ x 1.5″
• Top/Bottom: (22.25″ – (2 x .25″)) + (2 x (1.5″ – .25″)) = 2 pieces, 24.25″ x 1.5″

Border 2: (continue using segments from first undersea quilt) each 3 piece segment 2.5″ x 6.5″

1. Sides: (31.25″ – (2 x .25″)) + (2 x (1.5″ – .25″)) = 33.25″
   • 11 sewn segments (9 x 2″) + (2 x 2.25″) = 22.5″ x 6.5″
   • 33.25″ – 22.5″ = 10.75″
   • 10.75″ + .25 + .25 = 11.25″ x 6.5″ fabric strip
2. Top & Bottom: (24.25″ – (2 x .25)) + (2 x 6.25″) = 36.25″
   • 9 segments (7 x 2″) + (2 x 2.25″) = 18.5″ x 6.5″
   • 3 segments ( 1 x 2″) = (2 x 2.25″) = 6.5″ x 6.5″
   • 36.25″ – (18.5″ + 6.5″) = 11.25″
   • 11.25″ + (4 x .25″) = 12.25″ x 6.5″ fabric strip
