Pick, sort, and clean the plums that have been freshly picked from the tree. We picked 36 pounds of plums to make a 6 gallon batch of plum wine. They will need to be washed, pitted, and coarsely chopped. In the fermenting bucket place 7.5 pounds of sugar along with 2 quarts of boiled water. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. Then insert the straining bag to hold the chopped plums.
